San Carlos Bay - Bahia San Carlos
The beachfront town of San Carlos, nestled on the Sea of Cortez, is one of Sonora’s most popular tourist destinations. Located about 275 miles from the Nogales border crossing (approximately 85 miles southwest of Hermosillo), the town offers not only natural beauty, but ample opportunities for relaxation, fun and adventure.
Watersports activities include sport fishing, boating (there are two boat ramps, and you can bring your own boat), diving and snorkeling, kayaking, jet-skiing, and para-sailing. Local businesses rent toys for fun in the sea, or if you prefer something more leisurely, there are also local cruises available.
San Carlos is a popular destination for winter visitors from the United States and Canada. Its near-perfect winter weather, variety of shopping, restaurants and activities (including a country club with a full 18-hole golf course and tennis courts) are enjoyed by hundreds of snowbirds annually.
